Aluminium is a relatively soft, durable, lightweight, ductile and malleablemetalwith appearance ranging from silvery to dull gray, depending on the surfaceroughness. It is nonmagnetic and does not easily ignite. A fresh film ofaluminium serves as a good reflector (approximately 92%) of visible light and an excellent reflector (asmuch as 98%) of medium and far infrared radiation. The yield strengthof pure aluminium is 7–11 MPa, while aluminium alloys have yield strengths ranging from200 MPa to 600 MPa. Aluminium has about one-third the density and stiffness of steel. It is easily machined, cast, drawn and extruded.

Aluminium alloys (or aluminum alloys; see spellingdifferences) are alloysin which aluminium(Al) is the predominant metal. The typical alloying elements are copper, magnesium, manganese, silicon, tin and zinc. There are twoprincipal classifications, namely casting alloys and wrought alloys, both of which are furthersubdivided into the categories heat-treatableand non-heat-treatable. About 85% of aluminium is used for wrought products, for example rolled plate, foils and extrusions.Cast aluminium alloys yield cost-effective products due to the low meltingpoint, although they generally have lower tensile strengthsthan wrought alloys. The most important cast aluminium alloy system is Al–Si,where the high levels of silicon (4.0–13%) contribute to give good castingcharacteristics. Aluminium alloys are widely used in engineering structures andcomponents where light weight or corrosion resistance is required

Q:I have put clay over a paper mask form and I want to bake it now, but if I remove the form, the mask will collapse. The clay bakes at 275 so if I were to do this in intervals or about 15 minutes, would I be ok? I don't want the paper (well it's more of a cardboard sort of) catching fire in my gas oven
It really doesn't matterEither way, the burger will cook great and will have that grill flavorI usually cook uncovered until the flames get too high, then I put the lid onOf course, if you are using mesquite or hickory chips, you will want to leave the lid on for about 10 minutes so the meat will absorb some of that flavorAnd, after you put the cheese on your burgers, put the lid back onAren't Weber grill grand?!?! They are the best charcoal grills out there.
Q:Its for a History project.
I'd start with something light, like wire or balsa wood to make a skeletonThen cover that with a some film, either wax paper or plastic wrapI'd avoid aluminum foil, it gets too many wrinklesIf you use something heavier like a trash bag, you can pour in plaster or sand to help flesh it out so it won't seem to cling to the skeletonThen spray-paint the whole thing bronze, and voila, a miniature Colossus of Rhodes.
Q:and does anyone have any good websites for aluminium info? Thanks:)
Alluminum is not dangeous at all, infact Aluminum is actaully quite rare in North AmericaWe mostly use tinTin and Aluminum are different metalsIts not dangerous, cuase its important in the formatoin of earthTin, however is dangerous becuase of its weak oxidation levels, and the chemicals it emmits once its burntSo Aluminum foil is expensive, but when grilling things, use aluminumits safer.
Q:Im going to make juice popsicles but I dont have tooth picsWhat else can I use? Thank You!! :-] Bye.
My uncle used this system to cool his house for yearsHe hada flowing well and passed it through a truck radiatorAll the condensation takes place in the fins of the radiator so you just have to provide a drain for thisthe costs for such a system are very low and you don't end up with high humidity air.
Q:I have to do an experiment for my class but do not have tin foil or money to go buy itThis is the procedure:Measure approximately 1/2 teaspoon of water (one gram) and the same mass of aluminum foil (one 1 x 8 inch sheet)In a metal spoon or similarly small container, heat both on the stove for 20 seconds or lessFor example, you may want to heat up the water in one spoon and heat up the foil in another spoon then compareLightly touch each to detect how hot they are.
The tin foil would heat up faster because it has a lower specific heat than water.
Q:What's the characteristics of aluminum shielded twisted-pair?
Shielded twisted-pair can be classified as STP (Shielded Twisted-Pair) and FTP (Foil Twisted-Pair). STP refers that each wire has shielded twisted-pair on each shielding layer while FTP uses shielded twisted-pair for bulk shielding. It's worth noting that shielding works only when the whole cable is equipped with shielding devices and correctly grounded at both ends. Therefore, the whole system should be composed of shielding devices, including cable, socket, crystal plug and distribution frame. Meanwhile, the building should be equipped with well-functioning ground system. Shielded twisted-pair cable is wrapped with aluminum foil to reduce radiation, but it cannot completely eliminate the radiation. Shielded twisted-pair is more expensive because it is more difficult to install compared to UTP (Unshielded Twisted Pair). Similar to coaxial-cable, shielded twisted-pair should be equipped with shielding connector and corresponding installing techniques. But it has higher transmission rate of 155Mbps in 100m, higher than corresponding UTP.
Q:What will be a good aluminum sheet I can bend and it may keep it's shape?
FRICTION; 1.)when you drag something2.)when you slide on a wood floor with socks on GRAVITY; when you drop something TENSION; when you play tug of war COMPRESSION; the pistons when you drive a Diesel car BUOYANT; a floating pool ball
Q:I was warming some soup in my microwave then all of the sudden I heard a slight pop and alot of smoke came out so I turned on the vent - it was as if more smoke was produced once I turned the vent onThere was not any aluminum foil or utensils in the microwave and the soup was in a glass bowl.
There are a couple of reasons why you microwave are smoking 1.It could just be food that is logged somewhere inside the cabinet and is been overcook every time you switch on the Microwave oven on or 2A loose terminal connection on your interlock switches 3Transformer busy packing upSee if the microwave paint flaked off; paint it again with anti-heat resisting epoxy or an alternate advised paintBurned deposits need to be scratched offClean the microwave properly and dont overcook the food Just replace the High Voltage Capacitor and High Voltage Diott IF ALL THE ABOVE DO NOT WORK JUST CALL PROFESSIONAL APPLIANCE REAPIR GUY.I would suggest you to go for dial and search.
Q:how do i use window air conditioner in winter?i live in rooming houseradiators are very hot i do use the ac in winter but the compressor will not kick on how do i get that compressor to come on even though its cold outside? the ac is 20 years old and works well .there is a small aluminum tube near the filter ,,if i heat that will compressor come on ? or if i disconnect thermostat knob wires maybe ?
jack the heat way up and turn on the ac
