Q:Can solar panels be installed on universities or educational campuses?
Yes, solar panels can certainly be installed on universities or educational campuses. In fact, many educational institutions worldwide have already embraced solar power as a sustainable and renewable energy source. Installing solar panels on campuses not only helps reduce carbon emissions and combat climate change but also serves as a great educational tool for students to learn about clean energy and sustainability. Additionally, universities can benefit from cost savings on electricity bills and even generate surplus energy that can be fed back into the grid.
Q:I have a cabin in the woods and need more light. I do have enough sun but I was wondering how or where do I get a solar panel to lead to a power outlet? In a perfect world I would like to get a solar panel with a connecting wire to an outlet or something so I could power a small TV. I know its hard enough but can I get that pre-made? Or even lastly should I look at wind power consider I would like this to be under $500? Thank you for putting up with this bundle of questions.
A typical solar panel will deliver 50 watts of power in the form of 24 volts DC. You need 20 volts AC. So here is what it takes: Since you will need at least 200 watts to do a small TV, you need four solar panels, and a solar controller. Then you need a 24 volt solar type battery to load the output of the panels. Next you need an inverter. This is a device that changes 24 volts DC into 20 volts AC, which you can wire to a standard outlet for the TV set. Solar panels cost around $6 per watt of power. 200 X $6 = $200 Solar Controller will cost around $50 The battery will cost around $00 The inverter will cost around $200 You could get by with less than 200 watts of solar panels if you just let it charge the battery all day and only use the TV for an hour or two in the evening with the TV running on the inverter which is powered by the battery. The link is for a similar system ready to go. Wind is not a viable option.
Q:How do solar panels affect the property's operating costs?
Solar panels can significantly reduce a property's operating costs by generating clean and renewable electricity. By harnessing sunlight, solar panels can power various appliances and systems, reducing or even eliminating the need to rely on expensive grid electricity. This can lead to substantial savings on utility bills, making solar panels a financially sound investment for property owners.
Q:Can someone tell me if I can run a air conditioner off solar panel?I have a ET-P65420 20Wp solar panel. What do I need to make it work? I am told I will need a Enphase Energy Microinverter M20. Is that true? I am looking to run a 5000 to 8000btu air conditioner to a max of 0000btu air conditioner. I need to cool a 0x30 space. One time I read, I need total watts of panel to match total watts of air conditioner. Then I read, that I do not and can run more watts then what the panel is depending on the inverter and batteries. Can someone tell me what and how to make this work please? More panes or inverter and batteries?

Q:Can solar panels be used in areas with high levels of air turbulence or strong winds?
Yes, solar panels can be used in areas with high levels of air turbulence or strong winds. However, it is important to ensure that the solar panel installation is designed and built to withstand these conditions. Proper mounting systems and structural support can be implemented to secure the panels and minimize any potential damage caused by strong winds. Additionally, choosing robust and durable panels can further enhance their ability to withstand turbulent air or high wind speeds.
Q:What's your opinion on solar power? More specifically, having panels installed on your roof to reduce your electric bill. I'm having a consultation tomorrow to get more details. I live in the SW, so it's always crazy sunny here. I don't know what the cost will be yet. Is it something you'd consider if the situation was right? If not, why?
You dont say where you live? you need to consider average sunshine hours. There are some sites on the net that will work out for you what percentage of nameplate capacity you could expect to receive for different areas. Usually the capital cost wont be paid off for at least ten years, so money wise you would do much better by investing the cash. I once asked a guy (climate warmer) whether his solar panels had paid off or would do in the future, his answer was no but it was the right thing to do morally.
Q:I had someone quote me for solar panels on my house but I can't afford it. They were talking about how I have enough room and the perfect location to put many of them and actually get paid for it. I have about a half acre that is tiered and points in the correct direction for them to get pretty much the full day sun. Additionally, I live in so cal where it is sunny most of the year. Does anyone know if solar companies will lease or install them to get the payback? I would be happy to allow them to use the land just to cover my electrical expense and they could have any payback.
Hi, In the UK solar companies will fit them for nothing. The company gets the government allowance (called feed in tarrif FIT) and you get the benefit of the reduction in your power bills. The solar company make better money than the householder,BUT if the householder is in most of the day it could be most beneficial if the energy is used while the panels are generating, this means the householder is not paying for the power from the grid. If the householder works normally from 9 to 5 then there is less advantage in terms of getting free power from the panels. Best Wishes.
Q:Can solar panels be installed on the ground?
Yes, solar panels can be installed on the ground. Ground-mounted solar panels are a popular option for residential, commercial, and utility-scale solar installations. They are typically mounted on racks or frames that are secured to the ground, allowing the panels to capture sunlight and convert it into electricity. Ground-mounted solar panels are often preferred when there is limited roof space or for installations that require optimal positioning and easy maintenance.
Q:a) i'd like to get a solar panel to make this thing i saw in popular science, it was a bag that had a solar panel in the side (you just attach it with grommets into a clear vinyl pocket you make. its for charging elecronics and stuff) and i was wondering what kind i should look at, do they come flexible? can i get them on OKorder? what kind of wattage should i look for (btw it also had a little voltage regulator and stuff to make a little usb in your bag) so any info on that!b) i was thinking about like putting solar panels on my roof, where can i look into that, is that a good choice, has anyone done it, how did it work out? thank you, just curious
For okorder / for information on how to hooke it up your self. It is a DIY site.
Q:Can solar panels be installed on flat surfaces?
Yes, solar panels can be installed on flat surfaces. However, for optimal performance, it is recommended to tilt the panels at an angle that allows them to capture maximum sunlight.
