- Q:I have one Ethernet cable running to a WiFi antenna. The antenna is powered by the Ethernet cable, using PoE. I want to be able to plug the current cable into a hub or switch, so I can connect other devices (non PoE) like an Xbox 360 or PC, but I also need to maintain the PoE to the antenna. Taking the antenna off PoE is not an option. What kind of device can I use to split this PoE line into PoE and non PoE cables?
- Well, most POE devices come with a POE injector which puts the power on the line. That box will have TWO ethernet connections one which goes to the antenna has power on it. The other is a DATA ONLY cable. (also connected will be the power supply) That data only is the cable that is connected to your computer! Put that to any switch etc it is just plain everyday ethernet!

- That's a SATA drive - you're looking for a black connector, something like the one connected to the drive. If you don't have one (the white one that looks like it's touching the back of the drive in the picture is a PATA power plug), you can buy an adapter, so you can power the drive with the PATA plug.
- Q:Suppose load is 100KW, length 50m, how to calculate cable size. If we know current Is any easy mathod to calculate cable size.
- Cable sizes aren't easily calculated. That's why standard sizes appeared ; like NEC IEC. You can search for tables of standard size of cables in the internet. For the above case, I think u'll have to use 3 phase circuit. So Calculate the current in each phase then accordingly get the corresponding cross section area from the standard table. - Q:My 4 gauge power cable is hooked up to the battery's positive terminal and the other end to my amplifier's terminal. Is it safe to accidentally touch the ring terminal (end) of this power cable? I won't feel any electrical shock or anything will I?
- if you touch the positive terminal with one hand, and any part of the car's frame or engine block with the other with the engine running at idle, you'll complete an electrical circuit that will put about 13 volts right through your chest. With the engine off, it'll be closer to 12.6 volts. Luckily, your body is a poor conductor, with a resistance of around about 200k to 500k ohms (2 - 5 hundred thousand ohms). Less if you're sweaty. At least, that's my resistance. That means you have about .026 milliamps (13 volts divided by 500k ohms x 1000) of electrical current running through your heart. But don't worry, that's a fraction of what it would take for you to even notice it. Of course, if you have an implanted pacemaker, all bets are off.

- Q:I live in the Arizona desert, on a flood plain. Most of the time things are pretty dry. But during monsoon season the area I live in experiences flooding. I am planning a shallow, square, sunken pond. The main pond will be 4.10' L x 4.11' W x 3' deep. I plan to build an 8wide wall around the pond to keep out flood water. The wall will be made of standard red bricks. I plan to make the wall 2-3 bricks high. This would make the wall itself around 5-7 inches tall. The foundation for the wall will be concrete. Do I need a waterproof concrete sealant for the foundation? I plan on installing a power cable for my submersible filter between the EPDM liner I plan to use, and the mortar for my brick wall. Should I use sand between the mortar and the cable to protect the cable from the mortar? The cable will be encased in PVC as well.Thank you.
- You should use a concrete sealant, it can't hurt. Put the cable under the foundation in PVC and it will be fine.

- i have no clue what your saying but the 6pin connector is from the psu and both cards require 1 or 2 and do not use vga connector but HDMI
- Q:I bought an SATA hard drive off someone that appears to use a 15-pin connector. There does not appear to be any other connectors on the back. How does this thing get powered? I have another SATA hard drive that uses the regular 7-pin connector, and on the back, just like an IDE drive, it has a place to connect the power. This SATA hard drive though just has that big 15-pin connector in the back, and nothing else.
