- I don't think it can be done. And if it can be, not very easily. Here's why. Virgin Mobile makes great cheap phones. But they come at a different price. They intentionally limit (nice way of saying cripple) the phone in certain ways to prevent phone unlockers from taking these cheap phones and putting them on other phone networks like Metro PCS or Cricket. Virgin Mobile along with Tracfone both sell cheap phones and are famous for suing big time phone unlockers. And often winning the lawsuits too. To prevent unlockers from hacking their phones , one of the most common things they do is limit user access to the phone by limiting usb cable connections, bluetooth and other data port connections between the phones and pcs ( usb cable connections is one of the most common ways to flash/unlock a phone). The Aloha might be an exception but I don't think so because it is a cheaper model. (Virgin doesn't want some company buying up hundreds of Alohas at Best Buy or whatever and reflashing them and reselling them for a big profit at Virgin Mobile's expense.) They spend a lot protecting their lower end stuff. Kind of ironic really .
- Q:I am thinking about purchasing an unlocked Palm which runs on Windows Mobile. I don't think it comes with AIM. I guess I would download it from the website. My question is, if I do -- will AIM then run in the background when my phone is on standby/off or will I only receive messages when my phone is active?
- If your phone is on standby and you're logged in, you will be alerted. If your phone is fully powered off, you will not (unless you tweak the settings around to allow the application to turn on your phone). You can customize a lot on the Windows Mobile phones just depends on how much time you have to learn the steps and procedures to make it work the way you want it to.
- Q:Can you use a regular T-Mobile Phone(that is made to have a plan) for a prepaid line?
- Yes, you can-assuming you mean using a T-Mobile phone for T-Mobile prepaid service. Any T-Mobile phone will work with a T-Mobile SIM card. The cards are exactly alike, it is only the plans that differ.

I also noticed that once i click the plan, it brings me to a services page where it says required services are android and T-Mobile Android Unlimited Web. do i REALLY need the unlimited web plan or can i just buy the phone/39.99 plan? the unlimited web plan is $30 alone so it would cost 69.99/month. this is my first phone with an actual plan(currently mine is pre-paid), so i don't know much about them. thanks for any input!
- i recommend staying with prepaid. with that said, yes, most of there phones require an unlimited data plan for 30 dollars. and it's not just t-mobile that requires it, verizon is the same way. i say it's just another way for phone companies to get more money. i have straight talk and i love it. it's prepaid and it runs on the verizon network so it has great service. for 30 dollars a month you get 1,000 minutes, 1,000 text/picture messages and 30 MB of data or for 45 dollars a month you get unlimited everything. there's no roaming fees. unlimited calls to 411 at no extra charge, where on other providers it could cost any where from 1.29 to 1.99 for a 411 call. but that's up to you. i have had service with verizon postpaid, t-mobile, tracfone, net10, straight talk, verizon prepaid, t-mobile prepaid, u.s. cellular postpaid and i have to say prepaid wins. contracts really suck. yes the phones are nicer, but unless you pay full retail for the phone and not sign a contract, i don't recommend going with a postpaid account. good luck deciding.

- Wifi is free to use on mobile phones that can access it. Like my iPhone can detect and connects to Wifi anytime I'm in a Wifi zone so that it cuts down on my data usages. Its great isn't it? Yet I would say if you have to pay a lot for the data services on your phone, I would just use the data because it is not worth paying a lot for something you're not going to use a lot. But yeah, Wifi does not charge anything to your phone account. :) hope I helped!
