Q:SAILING QUESTION: How to reattach a roller furling jib sail.?
there are several types of roller furling systems. some have sail tracks that go around the head stay, but since your jib ended up in the water, we will assume that you have a free flying jib. i'm guessing that your system is made up of an upper swivel fitting that attaches between the top of your jib and your jib halyard (this will also attach to the forestay) the lower part of the furling system is usually a drum with a length of line that winds in the drum when the sail is unfurled. you are correct that you will need to retrieve the upper swivel and halyard and reattach it to the top of the sail. make sure that this swivel remains attached to the forestay, the lower furling drum should have the furling line attached to it. attach the bottom of the jib to the swivel on the furling drum and hoist the jib. once the jib is hoisted you can adjust luff tension with the halyard, and then pull on the furling line this will furl the jib. hope this helps
Q:Can I lift the engine this way?
Yes, that is how almost everybody does it - with the lifting eyes and chain. However, (like Mike said) make sure the chain is rated for more than the weight of the engine. But don't get under it, just in case. ======================================...
Q:what is a hoist puller? what is it used for?
A hoist puller is commonly refereed to as a come along or hand winch. They are used for lifting or pulling things. They can also be used to straighten things or even as clamps. You can use it to pull a fence post to the side as long you have a suitable anchor if you need to pull it Straight up you will need an overhead anchor.
Q:Where can l find free christian websites and hoisting?
i usually just type free christian stuff in the search engine it brings up alot of sites. Hope this helps! God bless you!
Q:What would you do if your company told you to lower the American flag and hoist a Chinese one in its place?
I'd tell them that it probably wasn't a smart idea for business if we are in America...unless we are doing business with Chinese business partners lol.
Q:Why doesn't the tire air pressure go up when the car is on the ground vs when it's up on the hoist?
first answer was good. Even on the ground you can notice the front tires are compressed more than those in the rear. This is especially noticeable in a pick-up truck with a light bed in the rear and heavy engine in the front. If you rotated the tires would you expect the pressure to change?
Q:changing rack and pinion on 97 monte carlo.?
You need a hoist, a fixture to hold the engine from falling out when the sub-frame is removed, more tools than most people own and about 5-7 hours of spare time. It is a difficult and possibly dangerous job and should probably be taken to a mechanic.
Q:What did they say around 1763?
hoisted on your own petard. means your plan backfired poppy cock means bullshit hip hip cheerio - hello
Q:What is your favorite spell to conjure a demon?
Just cuss someone out, they'll become infested with demons. Holy Pepperspray is the only defense against such crazies. (that is pepperspray blessed by a priest, it's not the 1.8 million skoville heat units that causes the pain, it's all God).
Q:how will I get the power consumed in watts by a 1 ton builders hoist of 10HP working for 20 hrs?
One horsepower translates into 746 watts so 10 X 746=7,460 X 20=145,200 Watts.
