You should read up on the different electrical units. You say .5 volts of energy, but this makes little sense. Energy is measured in Joules. Power in Watts. Solar panels will produce different voltages and currents, depending on the amount and angle of sunlight hitting them. Power = volts * amps. Before installing solar panels a home owner should do an energy audit to find out how much power they currently use - and how much that could be reduced with some easy changes. Solar panels are expensive, so it makes sense to reduce the amount that you need to install. In some places you can sell extra power back to your utility - so having extra panels might give you some small amount of money back - but this is rarely enough to justify the cost of the extra panels. I put 28 panels on my house (see picture in source URL). My utility has tiered pricing for electricity (first few kWh each month are cheap, but price for extra ones goes up in stages). My panels keep me from having to pay the higher rates.

If you were to search for solar panel on torrent sites, most likely, some disgruntled customer has posted the material. It probably violates the E4E copyright, so I'm not suggesting that you get it in this manner. I'm going to skip many of your questions, given my already-stated opinion of Earth4Energy. Professionally-installed panels have a net cost of thousands of dollars in general. While they can save money (and Southern Cal is an ideal place for this), consider that it generally takes 0 years or more to get your money back. If you're on S Cal Edison, or SD Gas and Electric, you can go on net metering. They don't really pay you, they credit your electric bill. After a year, if you used more electricity than you generated, you pay them. If you generated more than you used, they reset the balance to zero and say thanks for your donation. You never really get a check, like in some other states. But you should have lower electric bills. You can put up panels for your own use without any certification. To put up panels professionally, you'll need a C-0 contractor's license from the state, or will need to be under the supervision of someone with such a license. But if it's the latter, you might just be the grunt that carries the panels off the truck and up the ladder, for minimum wage. I'd say better than 95% of residentail solar is connected to the grid, if the grid is available. It's a clear winner. Who wants to pay 50% more for their system, just to have batteries that need their water and acid checked all the time? Below is one of many unsatisfied customers from Earth4Energy. Be careful in your search, people selling these reports have bought up the keywords such as scam and ripoff to direct you back to sites selling the product.

Go to your state's department of revenue and enter the solar panel thing in the site search box and follow the thread to exactly what is in place in the here and now. Things seem to change on a daily basis any more.
Q:Solar Panel - DC motor - Rated Power ? Functionality ?
solar cells are not rated in mah, they are rated in ma or amps. I'll assume this one is 50mA. Two in parallel will give you 300mA, so that will charge a 800mA-hr battery in 800/300 = 3 hours. Theoretically, in bright sunlight if the array is exactly at right angles to the sun's rays. The problem is, depending on the type of cells, the battery pack will need 8 volts or so to charge, and your solar cells won't deliver that. If the sun is at an angle, you may get only 3-5 volts. so you have to put them in series, so you will get only 50mA out of them, which will charge the battery in 6 hours of bright sunlight. Would two of my solar panels run this DC motor ? If the motor is .8 amps, you need the battery, the arrays are not near enough. Or are you attempting to replace the battery pack with the solar array? Your english makes that difficult to understand. If so, put them in parallel to get the 300mA, but that would run the .8 amp motor very slowly. If you had 2 of the solar panels, it might run at close to full speed if the sun is bright and shining directly on all the panels. But where did you get the .8 amps for the motor? The 800Mah rating of the battery has ZERO to do with the motor current. So the answer above is based on your number, which I suspect is totally wrong. .
