Q:how big of a roll of sheeting will i need?
10' by 10' would cover the bed and sides. Just buy a roll of lightweight Visqueen at the building center. It usually comes in 25' rolls 10 feet wide and you can cut off what you need. You will be able to use the rest of it for other drop cloths and it is a handy thing to keep around the house for emergencies anyway.
Q:I want to make a pond for my turtles but I don't want to spend to much money on regular pond liner so I'm thinking about using black plastic sheeting instead. Is it good or bad? Is it too thin?
good buy 6 mil its thicker
Q:I noticed a black plastic sheet that would unroll and cover my polaroids as they came out of the camera and once they were out, it would roll back it. I thought this was bad, so I ripped it out and threw it away. I noticed that this black plastic sheet was also on my older polaroid, and I realized that I probably shouldn't have ripped it out of my other polaroid camera. What does this sheet do and will it affect my camera at all?
You've just ruined your camera. The black plastic sheet is designed to cover the film for a short time after it's been pressed between the rollers. The idea is to keep the outdoor light off the film for those seconds before the chemicals begin to develop your image. A new film pack won't correct your mistake, as the sheet is part of the camera.
Q:I just bought a piece of mdf that i cut to the size i need, not to make my table complete i need to find some plastic to go on top (exactly like how you buy study desks from the shops. its that very thin sheet that just covers the table) I also would like an unusual colout like pale light green or white) i could not find the table size that is right for me so i made it myself by just adding it on top of my old table.
This may not quite be what you are looking for but why not check out 'Formica' type counter/table top products at places like Home Depot? You might find something close to the colour you want and get advice in regards to fastening it in place.
Q:Are plastic sheets resistant to warping or shrinking under heat?
Yes, plastic sheets are generally resistant to warping or shrinking under heat. However, the extent of their resistance can vary depending on the type and quality of the plastic material used.
Q:where can i find clear large plastic bags that big in size that i can put my bed sheets in?
Ziplock makes large plastic zip bags for storage. Do a web search to find stores that carry them. You can also buy the vacuum-type storage bags that save space. You can buy those on-line or from a store like Linens and Things that carries TV advertised items.
Q:Are plastic sheets resistant to cracking under pressure?
Yes, plastic sheets are generally resistant to cracking under pressure due to their flexibility and ability to withstand external forces without breaking.
Q:Are plastic sheets resistant to fading from sunlight?
Yes, plastic sheets are generally resistant to fading from sunlight.
Q:What is the be plastic thing called?
sterile equipment tape (at least that's what my dentist uses). It comes on a roll of tape (just like regular tape) and sort of looks like cellophane.
Q:I did some repair work under my trailer, and had to slit open my plastic to get to it. Now I have replaced the insulation, but I need to put the plastic back together. The slit is big enought that I need to put another piece of plastic over the hole. I only have wood available on one side. On that side, I can use my hand stapler and staple it into the wood. Then one side has a metal edge. And the other two sides I just need to connect it to the existing plastic. The staples will just fall out if I put them from plastic to plastic. How do I this this correctly?
In the area where the plastic overlaps, dig a hole so you can hold a piece of wood in place while you staple the plastic patch on. Then, fill in the hole. Finally, use duct tape on the edges to create a seal and to prevent the staples from rusting. If you are on concrete and can't dig a hole, build an L bracket out of wood - a triangle may work even better. Put it in place behind the existing plastic and weight it down with a sandbag so it stays in place while you carefully staple the patch piece into the upright portion. Finish with tape.
