Q:What exactly does the timing belt and water pump do?
Question is vague. Timing belt makes sure your valves are open or closed when your pistons are up or down. If your timing is off because your belt jumped you may have anything from a slight miss, higher temps, to bent valves and need a new motor. (you would know) Water pump is probably driven by your timing belt, and keeps coolant circulating through your engine block to keep your motor cool. A bad water-pump may leak, or be so worn that it no longer pumps enough coolant to keep the motor cool. Unless your vehicle is overheating, or you are leaking coolant you probably do not need to replace the water pump. The exception is that if it is a long and expensive job to replace and you are already torn down to your water pump, then people usually opt to get it done to save themselves money down the road. Timing belts in interference engines (motors where the valves and pistons occupy the same space at different times) should be changed as recommended by the manufacturer. If you fail to do this and one breaks or jumps enough you will be spending thousands. Hope this helps.
Q:How many HP of water pump is needed to pump water from ground level to a height of 50 feet?
It depends on your type of pump. Pumps delivering over 200 feet from bore well are usually multi-stage turbine type.
Q:Was my timing belt or water pump replaced incorrectly?
12 hours on a civic DX. I am a honda mechanic and I will say that this job only takes 2 hours, 4 hours if your slow and never done it before. Mind you this includes timing belt, water pump, cam seal, crankshaft seal, serpentine belts, valve cover gasket, spark plugs if needed, Honda coolant, and valve adjustment. If you are 1 tooth off on timing your Honda will run, but it will run very rough. Sounds to me like they may have the timing 1 tooth off, 2 teeth off and the car just wont run and if it does it will barely run. This car needs to be taken back and everything i told you should have been done and done properly. What probably happened is the dealer let an apprentice work on the car, since this civic is the easiest to do a timing belt on. However its still their fault that it was not done properly.
Q:Level 200 meters distance, elevation 30 meters, how much lift water pump?
According to the horizontal distance of 10 meters is 1 meters lift, 200 meters is 20 meters and 5 meters height difference of 30 Mega elbow, pump head floating down 10%, should be about 60 meters.
Q:30kW what is the flow rate of the pump?
Without a lift, how can I calculate it for you?
Q:how much is to replace a water pump?
Pep Boys Water Pump
Q:Water Pump on 2000 Audi tt coupe?
Water pumps do not last forever. Since you do not tell us the mileage of this 2000 Audi TT I will hazard a guess that it has over 100k on the odometer, in which case it should have had at least one timing belt and water pump change in its past. There are quite a few other wear and tear items that should also have been replaced by now. Before you buy ANY used car from ANYONE you should have your own trusted Audi mechanic do a pre purchase inspection (PPI) on the vehicle as well as go over the maintenance records that the current owner possesses. Do not, under any circumstance just take the sellers word for anything.
Q:How to fix a water-pumping machine...?
not knowing the specific system, prolly correct. pipe frozen and what you feel is just bypass/recirc. as the water has no where to go. or there's an external leak somewhere under the house? keep doing that, depending on the system, and it's condition, might burn up a pump. many different kinds of systems. for a house or motor home, usually have one that's pressure activated. that is, pressure drops as a tap is opened, regualator sees that, starts the pump running. that would be a system that employs a reservoir. probably air charged. to sense pressure drops.a nd max pressures to shut the system off. but that may not be what you have. many different configs. USAF trained hyd/pneu tech. glorified plumber i guess.
Q:how can you tell if your water pump in your car is going bad?
There are 2 key indications that you have a bad water pump. #1 and most obvious is your engine should overheat. This wont take long since the water pump is what circulates the coolant to keep your engine cool so within a couple of minutes of starting the car you should see your temp needle go way up. #2 is a little tricky because if your leaking coolant/antifreeze it can be because of a bad waterpump or a cracked hose or even a cracked or damaged radiator. Your best bet if your overheating is to have a pressure test done that will inspect for any leaks in your cooling system. If that turns out ok then the waterpump is the culprit. Be ware though in many models a water pump although a simple part and fix can be extremely expensive due to where it is place and how difficult it is to get to. Most manufacturers placed the waterpump in an area that requires you to take many components apart in order to reach it and often it is wise to replace your timing belt while your at it to avoid future expenses because that is also where your timing belt is so I would strongly advise anyone who is replacing their water pump to replace their timing belt as well.
Q:car sounds like it is havent trouble to start when idle after replacing water pump?
sounds like you didn't get your timing belt back on correctly...they can be a bear sometimes...go back and redo the timing belt and make sure the timing marks are lined up properly
