Q:Can solar panels be used for powering a mining operation?
Yes, solar panels can be used to power a mining operation. Solar energy can be harnessed to generate electricity, which can then be used to power various mining equipment and processes. However, the feasibility of utilizing solar panels for a mining operation depends on factors such as the size of the operation, energy requirements, sunlight availability, and cost considerations.
Q:Can solar panels be installed on parking lots or garages?
Yes, solar panels can definitely be installed on parking lots or garages. In fact, these areas are often ideal for solar panel installations due to their large, open spaces and exposure to sunlight. Installing solar panels on parking lots or garages not only helps generate clean energy, but also provides shade and protection for vehicles, making it a practical and sustainable solution.
Q:What is the warranty period for solar panels?
The warranty period for solar panels typically ranges from 10 to 25 years, depending on the manufacturer and the type of panel.
Q:what are the main minerals that are used in making solar panels. and where in the world are those minrelas usually found
Not minerals. Elements. Silicon. Found everywhere. Group III elements for doping. Group V elements for doping.
Q:If this was sold back to the grids what would be the profit i would stand to make per day on energy received in these panels? How did you come up with this answer?
I'm putting in a $00,000 solar wind project on ST Thomas, Virgin Islands so I have some experience here..... ) depends on where you are...the further north the less efficient the panels are because early morning and late afternoon sun hitting at a great angle isn't anywhere near as good as noon hitting perpendicular..........the US Department of Energy has a solar calculator showing how many hours a day over the year you get enough sunlight to actually run the panels....in the Caribbean the answer is 6 so in Wisconsin you might only get 4 really usable hours a day, Nevada 5, Seattle...forget about it..... 2) the panels I'm putting in are ( roughly) 2 x 3 feet...you would need access around all four sides of a panel...you are NOT going to crawl 35 feet across an array to fix a unit in the middle......so lets say you get 35 panels tall ( 70/2) by 2 wide (3 foot with a 3 foot access area between each row = 72/6) or 420 panels. Each puts out 75 watts at max. So you are cranking out 73,500 watt hours, or 73kW. If your local utility buys back ( net metering ) the juice at, say, 20 cents a kWh, you get $4.75 an hour. If you have 4 usable hours a day x 365 x $4.74 you get back something like $20,000 a year. You pay about $7.00 a watt for a panel. The 75 watt panels are, rounding up, $200. each. Times the 420 panels number is $475,000 dollars. Add in about $2,000 for the inverter to change panel volts to power company volts, and maybe another $20,000 for installation you are looking at $500,000 AT LEAST to put in the system you propose. AT $20,000 a year in sales, its 20-25 years payback. Now, you can play with these numbers up and down but you still get the answer of A LOT of money to buy and build and a LONG time till payback.
Q:Are there any limitations to the lifespan of solar panels?
Yes, there are limitations to the lifespan of solar panels. While solar panels are designed to be durable and long-lasting, they do have a finite lifespan. The average lifespan of solar panels is typically around 25-30 years. However, environmental factors, such as extreme weather conditions, can affect their performance and longevity. Over time, solar panels may experience degradation, reducing their efficiency and power output. Additionally, technological advancements may render older solar panel models outdated or less efficient. Despite these limitations, proper maintenance and regular cleaning can help extend the lifespan of solar panels.
Q:Can solar panels be installed on schools or educational campuses?
Yes, solar panels can be installed on schools or educational campuses. In fact, many educational institutions are increasingly adopting solar energy systems as a sustainable and cost-effective solution for their power needs. Installing solar panels on schools not only helps reduce carbon emissions and reliance on fossil fuels, but also provides educational opportunities for students to learn about renewable energy and its benefits. It can also lower electricity bills and redirect saved funds towards educational programs.
Q:. Do they scratch easily? How do I remove snow from them without scratching them?2. What does the upkeep of many solar panels consist of? I want to have my electricity completely off of the grid.3. Are all solar panels made from the same material, regardless of size?
anythign can be scratched/ruined/altered if not tended to properly.... remove the first biggest layer of snow and leave a lil under to try to see first if it melts away on its own (dpeendin what season of course) if not than get some luke warm water and soak the snow.... slosh it off with a rubber shovel or mop.broom whatever wont damage ur panels. anythign you take care of will last longer and take care of you.... and solar is expensive to put in and can be expensive to maintain . depends where you have most sun and depends how many resources you use, if you leave the tv on absent mindely all night and take 50 min showers or blast the heat with jsut on epathetic lil donwpour of rain instead of just BUNDLING UP like a alot of lazy *** ameicans and.or rich careless bastards of course youa re goign to be paying up and out of your asshhhhh-hooooo and nooooo there are some different materials solar panels are made of, there is a main base/core they use but im sure there are AT MOST two...the rest is either glass or plastic! depends for what you want and how many , includign size.... good luck!!!! excuse my typos
Q:Does San Francisco get enough sunshine to really make solar panels a viable option for creating a self-supporting home? Certainly a wind turbine would be a good source of energy, but what about solar panels? Does S.F. get enough sunshine to justify using solar panels? It's overcast a lot in the Bay Area, are there any solar panels better than others for a climate like this?
I know nothing about the Bay area, I live in KC. However, I believe that solar is the best answer to alternative energy. We should have solar panels everywhere, the suns going to be shining somewhere. I propose we make gigantic panels in the deserts where the sun shines and nobody lives, and hook everybody up to the grid. They can store energy when they get a lot of sun to make up for the dark days. They are expensive to make so we should start building them one by one all over. The sun is not going to stop shining for millions of years. Plus there is no pollution from solar. So, yes put them in the bay and back here in KC too.
Q:im making an energy efficiant house for science class and i need to price the house. im putting solar pannels on the roof and would u please tell me how much they are per like 2 sq. feet of a pannel?
Completely self-efficient and autonomous??? Forget it. Too expensive. It's only worth if you use like 8 lights (2-20w) about 4 hours a day, a fridge, a tv about 4 hours/day and basically nothing else or a few low consume stuff. Forget about microwaves, dryers, or other stuff. Too much watts. And that would cost you no less than 5000-6000$. You need panels (about 4 or 6 20w would suit maybe), 2 batteries (about 600Ah at least), inverter(500w/24v) and a regulator, lets say a 30A one. Just stick to normal energy supply. A single 20w panel may cost about 750$ at least.
