Product Description:

Cold Rolled Steel coil is a mill product made with a high degree of gauge accuracy and uniformity of physical characteristics. The smooth deoxidized matte finish gives an excellent base for paint, lacquer and enamel. Box annealing and absence of scale permit stamping and moderate drawing operations. Sheets bend flat on themselves without cracking. Oiling protects Surface against rust. The application of surface oil to cold rolled steel coil/sheet is intended to provide protection from corrosion ("rusting") during shipment and warehousing. Because cold rolled steel sheet is prone to rusting, standard practice is to apply a rust-preventative oil at the exit end of the temper mill (the last processing step).

It is suited to formation by bending or drawing, which enables complex parts to be produced in good repeatable conditions and intended for indoor use.

Q:1944 Steel Penny?
Weigh it. I'm not an expert on coins, but if the 1944 was 100% steel, I would expect it to weigh something different then modern pennies. Another test would be to measure the resistance with a micro-ohm meter. This is a specialized device that can measure resistance to a millionth of an ohm. Steel should have a different resistance than the metals used on other pennies. Here are some comments from wikipedia: In 1943, at the peak of World War II, cents of zinc-coated steel were made for a short time due to war demands for copper. A few (the U.S. Mint reports forty) copper cents from 1943 were produced from the 1942 planchets remaining in the bins. Similarly, some 1944 steel cents have been reported. Following 1943, salvaged ammunition shells made their way into the minting process, and it was not uncommon to see coins featuring streaks of brass or having a considerably darker finish than other issues.
Q:Does steel contain nickel?
Yes. Different alloys contain differing amounts.
Q:Galvanized Steel??
I've welded galvanized steel before and the fumes were not nice. He should be okay, but stay in a ventilated place with a fan blowing fresh air on his face and try brushing some of the coating off with a wire brush before welding.
Q:buying Stainless Steel refrigerator?
I'm looking too and certainly the designer trend is to buy stainless steel. They look classy, shiny and bring a darker wood kitchen more life. However, there are companies that have put out fingerprint/smudge free stainless models. I have found their surfaces don't retain fingerprints - do test them in the store. If you have small children, stainless isn't the best choice. I love the look and practicality of the French Door fridges - great for smaller spaces. I was all set to buy an LG fridge and now I'm hearing that they're going on fire? Be sure to check Consumer Reports before you buy. Many of the cheaper models are now made in Mexico. I do notice the quality difference when I'm opening and closing fridge doors in the showrooms.
Q:Stainless steel water bottle? ?
Stainless steel is one of the best products to use for anything associated with food. It can be sterilized, it won't stain or absorb odors, it can be recycled and much of it is made of recycled material. If you take care of it, it can last a lifetime. We get hung up on brand names, you should look at the material it is made of. Which is a quality grade of stainless steel. I couldn't find the grade on the Sigg site, but I would think it would be the same or very similar. So, all that to say, this one seems to be as good as a Sigg.
Q:Steel horse shoes vs. aluminum?
IMO, steel is fine. The only time I've felt that aluminum was important was: 1. A horse with a specific shoeing issue that required an aluminum shoe. 2. A racehorse-- every micro-gram counts. 3. Top level pleasure horses who need a little bit flatter knee. Everything else I've seen did just fine in regular steel shoes.
Q:Was steel discovered after bronze?
Yes, bronze was created a long time before steel. Steel came a long time after iron too.
Q:Why should I use stainless steel cookware?
This Site Might Help You. RE: Why should I use stainless steel cookware? I received a very nice set of stainless steel cookware as a wedding gift. While very pretty, Im finding them almost useless for cooking. Everything sticks, they're difficult to clean, and Im using my old non-stick pans instead. Should I simply leave the stainless out for decortive purposes, or...
Q:What is the Rockwell (HRC) Indentation Hardness of Steel?
Hrc Steel
Q:surgical steel or sterling silver belly button rings?
Sterling silver is not meant for extended wear in body piercings, and should NEVER be worn in fresh or unhealed piercings - the silver will tarnish, and the tarnish can be deposited into your skin which causes it to turn gray or black. Silver can also cause allergic reactions for those who have nickel allergies. So it's okay to wear for a special occasion in a healed piercing, but has lots of nasty side effects if left in too long. As for the surgical steel: not all SS body jewelry is created equal! Lots of cheap steel body jewelry is made out of 316L Stainless steel, which is the minimum requirement for steel worn in healing/fresh piercings. Some people can wear this type of steel, but it can (and does) irritate and cause allergic reactions for others. Personally, I will only wear 316LVM ASTM F-138 Implant Grade Steel, which is the same type of material that doctors use when they put pins and plates in your body during surgery. It is the highest quality steel you can get, and will usually cost a bit more, but as someone with sensitive skin I am not willing to risk getting an allergic reaction from sub-par jewelry. Also, implant-grade jewelry is most often INTERNALLY-THREADED, which means that the threads are concealed inside the jewelry and do not come in contact with your skin. EXTERNALLY-THREADED jewelry has the threads on the outside, and inserting it into your piercings is pretty much the equivalent of dragging a screw through your navel. Whatever grade of steel you decide to go with, make sure the threads are on the inside!
