Q:Kwh and watt conversion-- solar panel cost?
With out doing the math,, I think I would ask the solar panel company to explain it to you as they are trying to sell it to you. And see if you have some sort of warranty of savings. Make them work for the sale!!
Q:How may solar panels/wind turbines may be made affordable?
economies of scale or mass production is the answer to just about any item being made cheaper.be it cars or computers or solar panels. Now, how to get there is the question..... market forces? as more people want a 'greener product demand goes up quantity produced goes up unit price goes down....but that takes awhile.... government help ? subsidies...the US gov takes some of your tax money and makes it available as rebate to people putting panels/wind systems in their homes, and establishes policies to companies to take less taxes if they build wind/solar.... government orders: You MUST put in a solar panel ( or we'll send the Green Police to bust you)
Q:How do you connect a solar panel to a motor from an RC car?
Connecting them is not a problem: the solar cell has two leads or terminals, and so does the motor. The problem is that the panel from the calculator cannot supply very much current, and you need quite a bit for the motor. Also, the voltage is probably not more than 3 volts, and the motor needs probably six to twelve volts. If you have a voltmeter, check the output from the solar cell. You can get solar cells that will put out more current, but they will be bigger than the ones used for calculators. Even with these, you will probably need several in series to get enough voltage for the motor.
Q:will a 5v 52watt solar panel charge four 2c dv 55ah batteries?
Technically, any solar panel can charge any battery, but it would take quite a long time do do so if it is a large battery. If you are aware of the voltage and either amp or watt rating of the unit that is usually used to charge the battery, the solar panel should have a similar power output to that charger to work well. amps and watts are quite similar, and can be converted with this simple formula: W=watts; V=volts; A=amps; W/V=A; V*A=W; When charging batteries, it is always wise to use less amps than needed, and roughly the same voltage as the battery being charged. The less amps used to charge batteries means the battery will take longer to charge but will last a lot longer in the long-term. Your solar panel should be sufficient to charge the battery, but you should test charge it to see if it works well. I recommend using a multimeter to check the batteries voltage every couple of hours. Once the battery reaches 2v, it should be fully charged. You should also check the amps in case they are not at the expected value (take caution when checking amps with a multimeter, when i do it i always end up melting my multimeter leads). The battery should be fully charged from anywhere between 6-48 hours. if it is charging faster, the solar panel has too much power. if it doesn't charge in this time frame, the solar panel is not powerful enough.
Q:What home appliance can be powered by a solar panel?
Simple answer. Anything you can power with your normal household electric can be powered by solar. So you know what a solar panel is: A solar panel is more then one solar module mounted on a frame to be installed as a single unit into a solar array. Next question is normally what is a solar module: A solar module is a bunch of solar cells mounted together with a clear front and a white backing. Solar is something that you install on your home so you don't have to rent electric power from the public utility. It has a large upfront cost but will pay it's self and you then own something. Like if you rent a home you end up with nothing but if you buy a home you pay a big upfront payment and in the end you own it and can sell it for a profit. Yes you can run your A/C unit from Solar Electric. As said above. Anything you can run from the pubilc utility can be ran from solar. If it is in your home and running from electric right now you can run it from solar.
Q:Are solar panels a good idea in Seattle Wa?
The solar rating of your area is Good so I wouldnt see the reason not to use it. In my area solar rating is very good I get all evergy from it plus even selling it. My payback time was very quick but... If you are not in a hurry or cant afford to spend a lot, wait till end of the next year when the new flexible panels are coming to the market. They are suppose to be a lot cheaper, enviromental friendly more effective than the ones on the market now. Check out MY Estimator. I think for USA users its the best help on the net. You'll see your costs, tax incentives can get info about local PRO's aswell. Often people are shy to ask quotes but solar is overpriced at the moment so spend your time finding the best deals. Also check where panels are made, their efficency; warranty is usually 20 to 25years. Surf the net- OKorder, OKorder then check companies who sell solar panels. Some even offer price fix if you see other place selling with better price. Good luck!
Q:Help with Home Solar Panel System?
I think this will help you a lot. :)
Q:Selling homemade solar panels?
Would those be heating panels, or electric panels? If the latter, you would not have any safety certifications (I assume), so the panels would be illegal to use for a serious, grid-tied system. You would need to make this clear to your customers, that they could only connect to stand-alone systems. If this is in the US, there is always some finite danger of lawsuits if your product is defective. If the water heater leaks or blows up on someone's roof, you might have to go to court to defend yourselves. Even if you disclaim all warranties, in some states, if you sell something as a water heater then it has to heat water reasonably, and also not be hazardous. In other words, fit for its purpose. Check your local laws.
Q:how do you make solar panel?
I'm afraid you can't just make a solar panel with things just laying around the house. They require some specialized materials and techniques to create. Just buy what you need.
Q:2 Questions on Solar Panels?
Solar panels come in many kinds, using a variety of technologies and sizes, but the most common is still the crystalline silicon type. The power produced is variable, but the better ones you can buy approach 20% efficiency, and the peak energy from the sun is 200W/m^2 (Watts per square meter). This only occurs when the panel is lined up with the sun on a clear day with the sun high in the sky. The efficiency is also affected by how the electrical energy is taken from the panel, and the temperature of the panel. In the full sun the temperature approaches 60C, so the voltage drops. The links below provide a lot of information about such matters. A BP panel 50mm x 674mm gives a peak power of 20W. This is .07 square meters. As you can see this is very close to 20%. (The third link). However this is less in practice because the sun may not be full sun and may not be perpendicular to the panel. The output drops as the cosine of the angle to the sun, more or less. Even with peak sun this would produce only about 00W charging a 2V battery directly, unless an electronic Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) charge control is used.
