Q:How does a mobile come to know that which operator is meant for it. What exactly happens and how a mobile phone attach to the network.How it is different if the mobile is in roaming area?: A cell phone network is made up of the cell phones themselves, base stations, and the mobile switching center (MSC) hardware which does call routing, etc. The base stations (cell towers) are always broadcasting out control signals that contain a System ID (SID) and how it expects cell phones to identify themselves. When you power up a cell phone, it hears this and registers with the nearest base station and your cell phone sends its Mobile ID Number. This Mobile ID Number is more than just your cell phone number, it also contains its own system ID (SID) number, and it also contains the ESN, Electronic Serial Number that identifies that specific phone. If the base station's SID and cell phone's SID match, then the phone is on its home network. If not, then you are roaming and connect to another provider's network, usually for additional charges. Your phone usually can hear multiple cell towers but connects to the one that has the best signal (signal to noise ratio). After your phone is registered, your cell phone number plus ESN are forwarded to the MSC, which sends this to a home location register or HLR. If it turns out you're not on your home provider's network, it goes to a VLR, Visiting Location Register. This way the cellular network always knows where you are, that is, which cell you're in (what cell tower) so calls can be router to/from your cell phone.

No one else I've found offers unlimited international text. Boost has the best plan I've found but poor service quality and the Motorola i335 is not a good phone. I'm using a Australian model of sony ericson k901i. i'm also using malaysian celcom sim card. it works wonders. to answer your question. i dont think they will be a problem on just purchasing sim card use it on your handphone. if you want to make sure, just ask the shop to try it on your handphone (make sure bought it at handphone dealer shop). so no need for you buy one (new hand phone). i also suggest you to buy Celcom simcard. due to its ability to use on rural areas. your travelling adventure might end up or travel to rural areas which some of the phone provider dont have an excess

Q:I am always browsing phones and getting tempted by every new gadget I work hard all day long in my job but i keep spending all my money on these high end smartphone I which I don't even use any advise on how to stop spending a lot of money on mobile phones thanks.: when you're buying a mobile phone don't get a flip phone. I had 3 flip phones in the past and flip phones don't last that long. and they tend to be easier to break too. When you get a cellphone think about what you will be using the cellphone more for? are you going to be using the cellphone more for texting, talking, emergencies only? If you are a texter and you talk a lot then I suggest you should get a slider phone with a keyboard because its easier to text with a full keyboard on your phone. if you plan on using your cell phone for emergencies then I suggest you can get a non flip phone say for instance a net 10 or a tracfone non flip/non slider phone. which one are you going more towards, prepaid or contract? If you have enough money to spend on a contract plan then I suggest you go with att. I have att contract and they are the best cellphone service. I don't get any dropped calls or dropped text messages and I get 5 air bar waves and I never had a problem with their service. If you don't like to spend a lot of money and you want to go with prepaid then I suggest you go with net 10. I use to have net 10 before I had att contract and from my experience net 10 never gave me any problems, it was easy to use and you would get 200 minutes for 20 dollars and you didn't get dropped calls or dropped text messages from them either and there were always bar waves on the phone so it was a good connection. the only thing I don't like about net 10 is you have to top up 20 dollars once a month because with 20 dollars they will give you 200 minutes but only 30 service days. make sure you shop around very carefully before you get a cellphone and check out the plans too. good luck :-)
