Q:Can solar panels be used to power a restaurant?
Yes, solar panels can be used to power a restaurant. Solar panels harness energy from the sun and convert it into electricity, which can be used to power various appliances and systems in a restaurant, including lighting, refrigeration, cooking equipment, and HVAC systems. By installing solar panels, restaurants can reduce their dependency on traditional energy sources, lower their electricity bills, and contribute to a cleaner and more sustainable environment.
Q:what do I need to do to disconnect a solar panel from a battery to protect the panel?
Know that solar panels almost always incorporate a blocking diode to prevent a battery from back-feeding through an un-illuminated panel. Know that solar panels are usually connected to a battery via an electronic switching charge controller, not directly connected. Know that when a solar panel is open-circuited (disconnected from everything) it's terminal voltage will rise to almost twice it's nominal voltage. (22V is common for a 2V panel), unless it is stored in total darkness.
Q:I want to get a solar panel to run a fan (or two) for swamp coolers.I'm not looking to power 20box fans, just maybe some of those auto fans. What the heck kind of panel do I need? What is a power inverter and what does it do?Will I lose all my power if I use a 00' extension cord? How do I choose what I'm going to need?
Any fan you find in a store is going to expect AC, not DC, which is what solar panels produce. An inverter changes DC to AC. You'll probably want a deep cycle car battery to smooth out overages and underages. Any fan will tell you how many watts it uses. Panels should (i haven't looked) tell you how many watts they produce. Just off hand, I'd guess you're looking at a 2'x4' panel. Considering how much you'll be paying for the rest of the stuff, a good 00' cord is appropriate,. Last, it's worth the experience, but you'll never recover the cost of everything that you'll have to buy. Have fun.
Q:Tell me complete installation I have one 50Ah battery two 80 watts solar panels about 30 meter DC wire i charge ontroller and 000watt inverter. How i hook two solar panels to charge controller to battery then inverter?
Wires from panels go to controller input terminals. Controller DC battery terminals to battery so that the controller will protect batteries and split power as required by demand to the inverter. Output DC on controller to inverter. Output AC or outlets on the inverter to AC appliances. One thousand watts is not very much capacity. It will keep your computer running and a lamp to read by. It won't run major appliances. A hair dryer is typically 500 watts and could not be run by this system.
Q:Can solar panels be installed on a university or college campus?
Yes, solar panels can be installed on a university or college campus. In fact, many educational institutions have already embraced renewable energy and have successfully installed solar panels on their campuses. These panels can help offset the electricity consumption of the campus, reduce carbon emissions, and provide a hands-on learning opportunity for students interested in sustainability and renewable energy.
Q:China is building solar panels and have been for years. That is the most abundant energy in the world. My nieghbor has two panels on his roof and he actually sells energy back to the electric company. These panels cost about $30,000. each, because we don't produce them here on that level. If we did, that price would drop drastically. Other alternatives are also available. Drilling for oil will no change anything. Once you give the oil companie the go ahead, the will focus on that and the alternatives won't be developed any farther. We will be right back here in about 0 years. The price will not go down anyway. So why not switch half of our fuel to alternatives?
I know for a fact that -China has a lot of Nuclear Bombs pointing at the US--- paid for by Wal-Mart
Q:Do solar panels require regular inspections?
Yes, solar panels do require regular inspections to ensure their optimal performance and detect any potential issues or damage that may affect their efficiency.
Q:I'm doing a project for school and I'm a little confused about energy and solar panels. I'm looking to propose installation of solar panels to power the computer lab at my school. From what I've read a computer and monitor use roughly 350 watts per hour. I was looking at solar panels and it says they produce various wattage. For example, I was looking at one rated at 200 watts. Does that mean 200 watts in a day? Or per hour? Please help.
The rating of a solar panel is a maximum continuous rating. A 200 Watt panel will give a maximum of 200 watts under ideal conditions. A computer and monitor use about 400 Watts. not per hour - watts is Volts * Amps and a measure of Power. In hour a computer and monitor uses 400 Watt hours (Wh). Wh is a measure of Energy. To power a lab of 0 computers you will need 0* 400 = 4000 Watts. To run this from solar panels through the day only you would need a 4000 Watt panel. Except - its cloudy, the sun is in the wrong place - many factors reduce the output. To be reasonably safe you would need about a 2000 Watt panel. Then you would need batteries to store power through dull periods AND a voltage converter to change from low voltage DC from the solar panels to the mains voltage for your computers.
Q:lately i have been interested in solar power. i own my own home and in Texas it's HOT, so my A/C is always on and that light bill is like $300.00 a month. i was looking at other light companies but then i remembered that there are the so called solar power but i dont knowknow to start or how it would work to power the a/c machine...pls help
We are in the UK, but we now have two systems, one which heats the water and the other generates electricity via PV panels. You need to have a roof area facing in the correct direction and at a suitable pitch. If the sun is hitting the roof at an oblique angle the loss of benefit is high. The system that heats the water has the fastest pay back time. Our water has been hot since we had the system installed despite a poor summer here. Over here we can export surplus electricity created by the PV panels back to the national grid, and they buy that surplus. We often have surpluses during the day, but obviously when it is dark and we use electricity, we sort of buy it back. In the 6 months since it was installed, we have generated about 85% of our needs. Our best day was when we generated 46% of our needs. As you may know, we have had rain and floods over here, but to-day we still generated 22% of our needs and we put on several loads of washing. we have kept a spreadsheet of all teh figures. We are very pleased with ours, and we got a grant, but it was very expensive for the PV system. i'd recommend it, though. i have grandchildren and I feel we have to do something to preserve resources for them and to help combat climate problems. Make sure you have done other things - such as made sure your insulation etc is as good as it can be.
Q:Is it good? ( solar energy)
It depends mainly on where you live - both politically and geographically. It's very worthwhile if you live in the Southern hemisphere and your house faces north. The same holds true if you live in the Northern hemisphere in a south-facing dwelling. If your government gives a generous rebate towards your purchase of the panels (as the Australian one does) then ,yes, it is worthwhile as you can make your money back in only a few years. Of course if your motivation is more an ecologic than economic one then go ahead and do it.
