Q:Does anybody know if there are any courses for solar panel installation, and/or what trades you need for this position?
In Europe the governments offer an electrical buy back incentive of surplus solar electricity but to claim the income the solar panels must be installed by a registered installer who submits details of their skills. The skill to install requires some experience in building/roofing work for which there is no qualification and an electrician to wire up the components to the mains. Electrical engineering courses are available at local tech colleges. If you are just installing a 2/24 volt system you don't really need much experience, it is not syncing a full mains voltage in to the domestic mains! Installing thermal [water] solar uses similar building skills and requires he final fix to be performed by a heating engineer, again the course is available at tech colleges. both plumbing and electrical engineers need to be updated on changes and so there is ongoing education costs and licenses. If you can't afford college [two year +] try finding an employer who will let you work and study part time. There is a lot of demand here so few employers pay for the course but some do. go through your yellow pages and submit your cv to electricians/plumbers. Then when you get qualified learn about solar, and set up your own business. As a builder of sorts! Ive fitted systems and then found a electrician/plumber to do the final fix. You cant beat experience.
Q:I am doing a school project and we need to find the cost of solar panels for our school. The problem is i don't know what size the system needs to be. Is it 000 watts or 000000 watts? Also can you find the cost of the system? Thanks
Good question I am uncomfortable doing my child's homework so I will not complete the assignment for you. I am also always willing to help. Having the kWh is a great start. You must also ask the question when you size a system is there any way to reduce this load. Each kWh that you do not have to produce saves significant cost to the system. Next what type of system grid tied or off grid the two systems will have very different size needs and overall cost. I googled PV system sizing and got the below link. at first glance I like it. You can do the same for system cost. I also included a trade link for your review factors in sizing system type amount of bill offsetting geographic location site location track mounted or fixed and more Should you need additional help you can email me I will not do your work for you but I can either verify it or point you in the right direction
Q:Main questions: How can I work out the efficiency of a solar panel and how can I work out if the panel is relatively cost-effective? Also what type of solar panels is considered most effiecient?Let's assume that all relative values are available.Secondary question: What type of safety regulations and licenses are required to be fulfiled in order to import solar panels into the EU from non-EU countries?
366 W/square meter on March 2 and tweaked based on lattitude eff = W out/Sun W in there are special heat meters to measure W in ======== IEC 62688 Certification; and UL cert in USA
Q:Hi, I have in my sailboat 2 2 V batteries. I would like to buy solar panel(s) in order to recharge them. As i am in mexico and there is always high sun . i think it is a good idea.Usage of the batteries is very light . I have found 5-2V pannels with 80mA that fit in the sailboat. I want to know if and how i can have like 5 to 0 of them set together to charge the batteries and what other material would i need.also, i would like to know what happend if the pannels only send on 5V in a 2 V battery? Is it still charging but on 40 % of the capacity a 2 v pannel would charge or its just not doing nothing ?
0 of the panels wired in parrell will give you enough power to trickle charge the batteries. You will need a charge controller to prevent a overcharge from damaging your batteries. A panel array that is rated at 2 volts actually puts out a unregulated voltage up to 2 volts. I have bought some charger controllers from OKorder at good prices. They will also prevent the discharge of your batteries at night or when the panels are in the shade. If the panels only put out 5 volts they will not charge the batteries. Check each panel outside in the sun with a DC volt meter for proper operation before connecting them.
Q:I am searching for producers or distributors of solar panels. Thanks!
Grimcho..I'm going to give you a secret that no-one I know of has ever spoken of..Call Your local railroad maintenance yard and/or your local oil production company..I know your probably in another part of the world where this will not apply but here its like this.. BNSF changes out every 2-5 years their 00w 24v panels...they still have a good 5years of lifetime..Oil companies change them out on their well sites every 2 years 2x 60w 24v (actually they are 2 +2vdc grids series) now if your in Italy sorry this didn't work but if your in New Mexico ..they are in Santa FE...also they have way good batteries that are wet cell and run about 600$ each that they just dump many times on the guy for asking..try it....From the E....
Q:Lower solar panel/wind turbine prices allow wider applications, hence a great help to a greener mother earth!
“the living feed the dead” -- may have actually lucked into the answer. The government does assist the petroleum industry and it funded the research that gave us nuclear power. If alternative energy is going to work, it may require intervention by the government in terms of access to land (imminent domain) and to the transmission grid. Alternative energy companies are stuck because of their own paranoia (of industrial espionage) and because they are being gouged by land owners. A single wind turbine on your land can net you $70,000 a year (plus a 0% increase per year for inflation), forever. Then there is the cost of the corridor to access the grid. Solar companies are trying to purchase land like drunken sailors – and landowners in areas where solar can be most effective (e.g., the American Southwest) are hip to what is going own. So when acquisition agents call to purchase land, owners are demanding outrageous prices (say $5,000/acre for land that is worth about $00/acre, otherwise). Then there is the fact that nobody (rich or poor) wants one in their backyard, not to mention the various PAVE (People Against Virtually Everything) groups who protest stuff just because they can. ===== A Modest Proposal -- <<0% inflation rate is an extremely high You are, of course, right. Nevertheless, that is what some Wind Energy companies are offering land owners as part of the lease agreement for placing turbines on their land. I agree it's outrageous, but I'm an environmental consultant for several Wind companies and I know what they are offering. As a side note. They were initally so lame (and this is related to their general paranoia) that they cut deals to place the turbines before they secured corridor access to substations. When they subsequently approached the land owners (the same ones with the turbines on their land) about the corridor, they were held hostage for outrageous money - as in millions of dollars - because by then the land owners had them over a barrel.
Q:Which kit did you use?How easy was it to build? How much did it cost to build the panels? How many kw or watts does it produce?Any other info on the kit or panels you built would be helpful. Thanks!
Firstly, forget about making your own PV panels, while you can (if your chemistry is up to it and the home lab well tooled up) make a small PV cell, the efficiency will suck and you will never make enough to produce a reasonable amount of power. What you can do is to build your own solar thermal system to produce hot water (solar thermal makes better sense then PV in most domestic situations anyway), black painted central heating radiators under perspex, rockwool behind, small pump running a water/glycol mix through a heat exchanger controlled by some trivial electronics... Job done. As long as you don't try to run too hot, you can get a hundred watts or so of heat per square meter from such a solar thermal plant. Regards, Dan.
Q:Can solar panels be installed on assisted living facilities?
Yes, solar panels can be installed on assisted living facilities. In fact, installing solar panels on such facilities can be a great way to reduce operating costs, promote sustainability, and provide a clean source of energy.
Q:Can solar panels be installed on senior living facilities?
Yes, solar panels can be installed on senior living facilities. Installing solar panels on senior living facilities can help reduce energy costs, promote sustainability, and provide clean and renewable energy for the facility. It can be a beneficial and cost-effective solution for senior living facilities to meet their energy needs while also contributing to a greener environment.
Q:I'm writing a lab and I have to put information about solar panels in it. The history, who started them, why they are useful etc. any good sites that can help me?
Good question, but I don't think big oil likes solar panels.
