Q:Tell me the guidelines for making solar panels?
If you're expecting to use them for anything other than a science fair project, don't bother. In order to produce any significant amount of power, solar panels have to be made of complex materials and coated with special coatings. If you want to power anything with them you'll need an inverter. Solar is not a DIY project (no matter how much those scam kits claim). If you're serious about solar, call your local solar installer and talk to them about it.
Q:Should the value of solar panels be included when appraising a home?
Normally solar panels are listed as part of the house that supply heat, like a water heater or furnish. Your house would be appraised the same without the solar panel. Since the house you are references sold 4 months ago this might not be a comp your appraiser would have used. Normally a house would have to be sold within the past 90 days to be used by an appraiser. You are able to challenge the appraisal of the house you paid for. The appraiser would take a second look at the cops he/she used in coming up with the valuation of the property and see if here was something that was over looked. If you want to challenge the appraisal based on the fact that you have solar panels, it is doubtful there would be any changes. By adding the solar panels to your house might have been over built your house for the neighborhood. Look around your neighborhood to see how many other houses have solar panels. Normally in an area where houses are valued at around $200K or so would not normally be equipped with solar panels. This would not add value to your house as other houses in your neighborhood would still appraise for the same, since they would not have solar panels as the house you indicated in your statement did not have. I hope this has been of some benefit to you, good luck. FIGHT ON
Q:Are Solar Panels worth it in Southern California?
With tax incentives, yea it's worth it. It will take years to recoup the costs. You need to live there for a while.
Q:solar panels, wattage?
The easy way is to just use the power values. You need 4500W. Each solar panel delivers 00W (from a value in your working). Therefore you need 4500/00 = 45 solar panels. This is a crude calculation, ignoring efficiencies, voltage conversion losses and losses due to internal resistance. You would probably need quite a few more than 45 panels. ___________________________ I'll explain how to do the calculation your way. Each solar panel delivers 00W with a voltage of 2V. So the current is 00/2 = 8.333A. Each solar panel delivers 8.333A at 2V. But you require 8.75A at 240V panel delivers 00W. To get 4500W, you need: 8.75/8.333 = 2.25 times more panels to increase the current AND 240/2 = 20 times more panels to increase the voltage. So overall you need 2.25 x 20 = 45 panels. Of course if the power output of each solar panel is not 00W, you have to change the above calculation accordingly.
Q:Feedback on Solar Panels?
They work. If you have realistic expectations of them, understand their limitations and have a good knowkedge of electronics, you will be glad you have them, and you will also likely want to add more as you can afford them. If you need someone else to install them and you know little to nothing about electronics, your installation cost will be much higher. However they are not always a total solution, and for those wanting to continue using energy the way they do when attached to the grid they will be disappointed. You do need to make some changes to how you use energy. Get them for the right reasons, and at some point you can unplug your house from the gtid. Grid tir is fine for some, but highly overrated by those who wish to social engineer society to have things both ways- tied to the grid to produce power while letting the power company do it's thing to your appliances,
Q:Where are the best places to put solar panels?
Probably not worth it. Sure, it is a great idea, but it will take decades to get your money back in energy savings. Today's panels are fine for a roof. However, I'd worry a little about the interface (where leaks could occur) especially in a retrofit. They, of course, will need to face south.
Q:lighting my pond with solar panels?
You can get 6V cells and SLA batteries. You would get a panel and batteries suitable for the lights you get though. Depending on what you want to do, you shoud look into LED lighting, which is more efficient than incandescent. You do not want to drain your battery flat. Rather you want to draw only 2/3 of its capacity of so. You would find the lights you want (likely 2VDC), and add up the current they draw, and get a battery that would supply enough capacity (in AH, which is amps time hours) for a couple nights use (to account for weak solar days), and a solar panel to charge two days of use in one good day. You would use a charge controller so that the solar panel does not over charge the battery, and some sort of dusk timer to turn your lights on at dusk and off several hours later.
Q:Any help financially to buy solar panels?
I don't believe that there is any help yet.
Q:Electricity question about solar panels?
the panel would have to be on for 0 hours in the sun to get an hours use with the set up. try researching solar hot water heaters. they are much more efficient. a cheap one would be painting an old hot water heater black and pipe it to the new hot water heater. it will save you 80% of your electric hot water bill.
Q:New Prius; Solar panles a good design?
The solar panels run the fan to remove hot air from the car. They do about the same amount of cooling that cracking the windows and using a heatshield over the windshield--that is they keep the interior of the car about the same as the exterior without draining the 2V battery. One problem I have with the solar panels is that they come with a moonroof. The other problem I have with them is that to get them you have to give up the additional safety features because Toyota won't put both the high tech safety features and the solar panels on the same car. So is it a good design? Well, nothing with a sun/moonroof is a good design IMHO, but that's the power of advertising for you. In that it runs a fan without draining the 2V battery, yes that part's good. Having to give up the high tech safety features to get it makes it a non-starter for me (and I live where it gets plenty hot so I could really use the fan).
