A typical arrangement would involve three generators of which any two can handle the peak load while the third can be held as a standby unit or dismantled for major maintenance at intervals. There will be a switchyard that contains the electrical contactors and safety devices for connecting the generators to the grid as needed, and there will be control panels for the individual generators, as well as synchronizing gear to keep the generators in phase. In many installations these controls are computerized and can be operated and monitored at a distance over the internet or other communications arrangement. Also, there will be arrangements for handling the fuel required by the engines. Often there is a large tank and separate day tanks for each engine. This type of arrangement helps ensure that the entire supply is not lost in case the fuel plumbing or day tank for one generator set springs a leak.

Is the 7.7 KW mechanical or electrical? If you have 7.7 KW electrical, I will assume you will be delivering 2 legs at 120 V and -120V; 7700 watts/240 v 32 amps so I believe the main breakers should be 32 amp each approximately.

if hte control rods had not be inserted it would of catastrophic. the reactors would be working at 100% and no one can shut it down becasue there is no power. left for too long and unable to stop the reaction, it could lead to an actual meltdown like at the Chernobyl. there's a good reason why during any emergency the control rods are inserted. its standard protocol since the very first nuclear reactor experiments back in the late 1930s under some gym in the eastern USA. you want to shut down the most dangerous thing first, the one that has the most potential for catastrophe before doing anything else.

Reverse power shutdown, can be caused by to low of a frequency or hertz setting,below 60hz., for example 30hz., or cycles.It also can be caused if several generators are on the same line, and one has a much lower output,It will shutdown or trip off on reverse power.Hope this helps

Diesel generator is just controlled on output speed by speed governor.once load increases, speed governor senses that and increases throttle. If load is in excess towards DGset max performance, then speed will drop and dg set will be cut off automatically.

Water cooled is hydrolic obviously and it don't really go faster depends what horse power the engine or motor is. Air cooled is just your basic diesal that need a spark to start and needs air to cool down.
Q:for a diesel generator of about 113 HP. What is the typical exhaust temperature?
i ve worked on a 440kw engine as a general rule the exhaust temperatures are never let to go in excess of 400 degrees. normal exhaust temperature at 300 kw was 350 deg celsius.
