Q:how to create a wet bed for tiles?
What is the sub floor made of??
Q:how can i tile over linolium flooring without pulling it up?
Jim has the right idea. Lay 1/4 inch wood(called Luann or mahogany over the floor). Screw it 4 on center on the joints and 6 on center in the rest of the sheet. Cover all screws and seams with Ardex or 20 min taping compound ( comes in a bag, don't mix too mutch at one time). Tile according to manufactures recommendations.
Q:Travertine tile directly to sheetrock in dry area?

Q:what type of glass tile is this?
Are these beads seed beads? Really beautiful
Q:What the tiles do
Q:can tile be glued to formica?
It can and will hold up on one condition w/o a backer board. The top must be 2 3/4 ply wood or nova ply( HDF) , not the single layer counter top with the false edge that makes it look like its 1 1/2 thick. Other wise you need a backer board so the tile meets tile codes( ATC and TCA guide lines) for a minimum substrate which is 1 1/4 A few special thing need to be done but it will work. Any questions you can e mail me thru my avatar and check my qualifications GL
Q:Question on cleaning cory tile?
tile okorder.com... There is a product called the Bona Hardwood Floor Mop as well... it is a hardwood flooring cleaner but there are other cartridges you can purchase that is a tile flooring cleaner to attach to the mop! I love the Bona! Maybe you'll like it too! I have both cleaners for the Bona, hardwood and tile... they're amazing!
Q:home decoration advice : what to do with wasted wall tiles?
Give them to the local school for art and craft. Keep some for spares though.
Q:Removing vinyl floor tiles?
Heating the tiles up will make for easy removal. But you cant just use a standard hair dryer. Rent a commercial heat gun. It ll heat the tile up for easy removal. Most people think a regular dryer will work, it wont. Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar. GL
Q:ceramic tile question?
I think you should do the whole thing in tile. Not only is it better for resale value, but better for your health also. The other poster is right, the subfloor is the most important thing. It needs first to be level, and second to be of the right substrate. I am guessing you have a plywood subfloor. If it is level, spread a layer of thinset, then screw cement board down over top of it. This will give you a good surface. Laying the tile is not too hard for a DIYer. Just follow the directions on the thinset bag and on the grout bag. I'll throw some resources in below.
