Q:Solar panels would change the world if they were widely available to us especially cheap, it will be worth it in the long end. Money would be saved like housands a year per person on utility costs.
Down the drain. That money is gone. Just more wasted money the government writes off and then tries to raise taxes to pay for.
Q:im trying to experiment with solar panels. so i dont want to buy a huge expensive solar panel if i dont need one.
They are powered from internal batteries, so what you really want to do is to charge the batteries. Take them one at a time, as they have different power and voltage requirements. Don't try to do them both together, unless you use an inverter. To directly charge a battery from a solar panel, you need to find out the voltage and current requirements for the charge operation. Then find a solar panel with a voltage somewhat higher. the current can be lower, it will just take longer for the charge. You will have to monitor manually the state of charge of the battery(s) to avoid overcharging and damage. Another alternative is to get a solar panel that will supply 2 volts and use that to operate an inverter that will output 20 VAC with AC sockets on it. then you can plug in the battery chargers that you have, and they will handle the batteries correctly. Or you can buy solar panels with built in circuitry to handle the charge control. .
Q:I want to know that if I put solar panels in space if Pluto can recieve energy for iPods and television
Two problems: ) solar flux. Around Earth, we receive solar energy to the tune of 370 W/m^2 (watts per square metre). In theory, if you have a solar panel of metre by one metre and place it (in space) directly perpendicular to the rays of the sun (meaning = the panel is facing the sun perfectly), you should get 370 watts of power. In practice, the panels are never 00% efficient so that you get less. The flux (just like the intensity of light) drops as the square of the distance increases. Pluto is -- on average -- 39 times further from the Sun, therefore the flux there will be reduced by a fraction of 39^2 = 52 times 370 / 57 = 0.9 W Even with 00% efficiency, you square metre panel will produce less than one watt, once you get it out to Pluto. 2) temperature It is very difficult to built a solar panel (with all the required wire connections) that remains flexible enough at Pluto's temperatures. Temperature drops as the 4th root of the flux (or, to make it easier, the square root of the distance). sqrt(39) = 6.25 Temperature at Pluto = Temperature at Earth / 6.25 (in degrees Kelvin -- also known as Absolute Temperature) At best, temperature around here is 300 K (it is less than that, but 300 makes the calculation easier) 300 / 6.25 = 48 48 K = -225 C = -373 F wires and insulation become very brittle at these temperatures... and one watt of power flowing through the wires will NEVER be enough to warm them up (never mind running the iPod).
Q:Can solar panels be installed on metal roofs?
Yes, solar panels can be installed on metal roofs. In fact, metal roofs are often a great choice for solar panel installations due to their durability and long lifespan. Additionally, the smooth surface of metal roofs makes it easier to secure and position the panels, maximizing sunlight exposure and energy generation.
Q:Can solar panels be used to power a disaster relief operation?
Yes, solar panels can be used to power a disaster relief operation. Solar panels are a sustainable and reliable source of energy that can provide electricity in areas affected by natural disasters or other emergencies. They can be set up quickly and can generate power even in remote locations. Solar panels can be used to charge batteries, run communication systems, power medical equipment, provide lighting, and support other essential needs during disaster relief operations.
Q:Can solar panels be used in areas with high levels of wind-blown debris?
Yes, solar panels can be used in areas with high levels of wind-blown debris. However, it is important to ensure that the panels are properly installed and maintained to withstand the impact of debris. Regular cleaning and inspection may be required to prevent any obstruction or damage to the panels, ensuring their optimal performance.
Q:if so, would it be possible to make (or remake) an organism that could subsist off of sunlight and external heat like plants?
It's done under the name of biodiesel. Plants capture sunlilght and produces oil, oil is used to generate movement by an engine. That can be used for transport or to generate electricity. But they can also get used more directly for solar panels: . though they aren't much good yet. Generally going to convert plant products into energy is still better. Edit: connecting a solar panel to your metabolism will remain for a long time science fiction. The traditional way of eating your food instead of absorbing it into your skin works well and can be very enjoyable.
Q:Can solar panels be damaged by hail or other weather conditions?
Yes, solar panels can be damaged by hail or other severe weather conditions such as strong winds, heavy rain, or snowstorms. Hail can cause cracks, dents, or shattered glass on the surface of the panels, reducing their efficiency or rendering them completely ineffective. Additionally, extreme weather events like hurricanes or tornadoes can also cause structural damage to the mounting system or dislodge the panels from their position. Therefore, it is important to consider the weather conditions in a particular location and choose appropriate measures to protect solar panels from potential damage.
Q:okay so i want to know if solar panels shine. ------(MY Q'S ABOUT BLINDNESS DOESN'T MEAN PERMANENT OMG I CAN'T SEE! BLIND BUT THAT WE JUST CANquot;T SEE AT THE MOMENT BECAUSE OF THE LIGHT.)------------------------------like if/when they face the sun is there a glare to the people around?-if there is would the person have to look directly at it? -Could it reflect off of other objects and cause temporary blindness or just shine light in person's eyes?-if there were windows and mirrors near the solar panel would it affect a person's sight?-and if it did for how long would it hurt or take affect?-and is this physics? like-solar panels and how they work is that physics or some other category?
Solar panels reflect less sun than a piece of window glass, and people aren't harmed by the sun's reflection off windows. Also, solar panels tend to be tilted more or less directly toward the sun, so the light that they reflect is back at the sun, not down into the street or yard where people are. Those huge power tower concentrating solar thermal plants have a brilliant light reflected off the boiler. But those are put out in the desert, away from people.
Q:Can solar panels be used for heating a greenhouse?
Yes, solar panels can be used for heating a greenhouse. Solar panels can be used to generate electricity, which can then be used to power heating systems in a greenhouse. This can help maintain a consistent and optimal temperature for plant growth. Additionally, solar panels can also be used to heat water, which can be circulated through a greenhouse to provide warmth.
