  STA Ceramic fiber paper  is a heat-resistant light weight ceramic-impregnated paper that provides excellent separation between kiln shelf and glass up to 1600F. It is a one-use material that is very delicate after firing. Use ceramic fiber paper to protect the surface of a hard ceramic kiln shelf when fusing or slumping glass. Glass will fuse to an unprotected hard ceramic kiln shelf. Ceramic fiber paper (often called Thin Fire shelf paper) is an alternative to applying kiln wash to a hard ceramic kiln shelf.
