- Q:Help! I've been stuck benching 140lbs for a good 1 month. I try overloading but it has not worked because I would just get tired. I'm 15 years old, 5'3 and weigh 105lbs. Is it because of my weight? My height? Or is it because I have adapted to bench pressing that it has no effect on me? I have mostly been working on my Fast Twitching Muscle Fibers. Maybe this is the cause of my plateau.I'm willing to switch to endurance exercises to improve my Slow Twitching Muscle Fibers but I'm not sure if this will help me break my plateau.Any advice will be appreciated.
- Well if you're trying to beef up you need to eat more protein. If you're not a big eater then eat your three meals a day and snack on protein bars. As for the plateau just take a break from bench pressing like for a week then go back at it. Doing the same thing causes muscles memory. If you're looking to increase strength then try resistance training for a while then go back to bench pressing that way you don't fall into a plateau. Resistance training is a little more work on muscles so you probably want to start with less then 140Lb of resistance. Switch your workout up this will help keep you from the plateau effect.

- Well, only you know how much u can handle an how strong u really are... just do a weight u can lift for 4-6 reps or 6-8 and do the dumbell press on a incline you should be good to do 75- 90 lbs im sure... on the incline so try that... see how it goes.. u can also drop down if its a bit much yes increase your incline benchpress.. its too easy for u... correction on the dumbell incline press when i say 75 - 90 lbs.. i mean 75- 90lbs dumbells in each hand.. not 75- 90 lbs total weight.. just making sure u know... lol :)

- If your book really says that, it's wrong. You NEVER press on a fret, you should press just behind it. If you press down ON the fret then, yes, you will mute the strings. You should press just hard enough for the string to make contact with the fret and vibrate cleanly. If your guitar is reasonably set-up it should not require much pressure. Pressing any harder will most likely send the string(s) sharp and make your fingers and even your whole hand sore. Touching strings with your fretting fingers that you don't want to touch is a completely separate problem that has nothing to do with how hard you press. Everyone has this problem when they start playing. You need to position your hand and fingers correctly but it's really just a matter of practice. Make sure that you are fretting individual strings with the tips of your fingers - not the pads - and that your fingers are coming down on the strings from above and not from the side. Often it's the position of the whole hand that's the problem. I'd be practicing that with simpler chords like Am, D and Em before going onto chords like B7 and C7 which ate more likely to get your fingers in a tangle. As I say though, practice is the only answer. Good luck.

- dont use one, they are all pieces of crap and all they will do is mush it up and make it hard to work with, the best way to do it is use a knife, smash it (lie the blade flat ontop of the garlic) and press down with some force if needed, than do a quick chop/mince(watch those fingers). this is the best way to use fresh garlic cloves and the easiest.
