Q:Just curious i also want to have my ps3 in good condition so i was wondering how durable is the power and av cables
they would last for years if you dont pull them or stomp on them... they are that good!
Q:when the power cable comes out, the laptop turns off simple as that! it wont work unless the power cable is plugged in and turned on, and its not that the battery is flat because i had it charging all day.so does this mean the battery is broken?if so what do i need to do?? any help will be greatly appreciated!!
The battery is dead. Laptop batteries have a limited number of charges. So if your laptop is older, this type of thing will happen. There are several online resellers that sell batteries for different laptops.
Q:I have dell optiplex 755 @ Q6600I bought a new graphic card, HD4850it requires 2 IDE power connections, but my computer has just SATA connections.I saw sata-to-ide converter in the internet, but in my country there isn't any store that sells it.What should I do ?
You need a 4 pin molex. Yes most video cards have either a 6 pin PCI-E or 4 pin molex connector. What he doesn't have is a 4 pin molex from the power supply. His power supply only has SATA connectors on it. The only thing you can do is order one online. That shouldn't take too long to get in. I attached a link to one below. You can also just try replacing the power supply as most new power supplies come with a 6 pin PCI-E connector as well as SATA and 4 pin Molex.
Q:I'm AM NOT looking for Ipod, USB, ethernet, or cellphone charger cables, just simple 120V appliance power cables that can be hardwired/soldered in to replace existing cords.
Try cshopping
Q:I have been looking all over the internet for one of the previously stated cords, and I just can't seem to find one. I really don't know much about power cords, but a monitor a friend gave me needs a 12V, 4.0A DC power cable.I would prefer to use a site like newegg, OKorder or cables unlimited (or a large retailer like Walmart).
If the pin fits, and the tolerance on the 12V is comparable, the better amperage should not be a controversy. in case you have a voltage meter, you are able to verify the 12V adaptor for its output.
Q:I'm installing aftermarket amp and subwoofers in the trunk. I currently as a temporary fix ran the cable outside and in through the passenger door on the car, then under the carpet to the trunk. Is there a break in the firewall anywhere that I can put it through instead? Thanks for your help!
well honestly im not familiar with preludes but what you do is pull the carpet down a little under the gas and brake pedel the should be a clearing spot in the fire wall from steering colum speedo cable or electrical. it wont look like much of hole but there will be a rubber plug take a flathead and scoot it out then run your power cable through that-wraping it with protective cover where it will lie in the firewall(so it dont cut the plastic and short something out) then tuck all the wires under the carpet along the runningboards. be patient it takes a while but in the end when you can see no wires it looks great
Q:im hooking up a system in my truck..im doing it the redneck way they way i have watched my dad do it many of many of times. im using jumper cable wire!! yes jumper cable wire, its plenty of juice the perfect size! but im not sure if he ever used a fuse link.do you have too? what if i dont use one? if so where is the cheapest place to get it?what size fuse is it?
Jumper cable wire, in fact any wire of the appropriate AWG (or bigger), is perfectly adequate as far as the current carrying capacity is concerned. One problem with using such wire is that the individual strands are much thicker resulting in the overall cable being much stiffer and harder to pull and bend into place for a typical installation. You really need a fuse. It's purpose is to protect the vehicle electrical system (and the vehicle itself) if there is a short in the connected equipment or wiring. Most auto parts stores will have fuse holders and fuses. Likewise car audio shops. Even WalMart. The main fuse size is usually specified by the manufacturer. If not, look on the amp itself. For example, the Pioneer GM-D8500M Class D monoblock amp has a pair of 30A onboard fuses. In this case your main fuse should be at least 60A. If the 60A fuse blows under normal operation, you would then go up 1 size to an 80A. This allows the amp to draw sufficient current, yet protects the vehicle in case of a short.
Q:I have been doing research online and have found replacement power cables from Kimber, Nordost, PS Audio, Cardas, Monster and Audioquest. While Kimber did win an award in Audiophile magazine, the write up for PS Audio's SC statement cable appears to be very good as well. Nordost makes a great product too, but have read some complaints that it actually cheats the bass. So I am basically looking to see if anyone owns any of the replacement cables from these companies or what they could recommend as a good replacement power cord.
This question does not make sense. Power cord for what equipment? Most audio and video equipment comes with the power cord attached or uses a standard 3 prong 110v power cable that you see on computers. A power cord should not affect quality. To improve quality, you should have a power conditioner or line conditioner to clean the power going to your equipment. Please elaborate on what you are trying to do.
Q:im looking at installing an amp and was wondering if its fine to go through the firewall were there is already a group of wires with a rubber seal, i was thinking of poking a hole through the rubber seal and running the power cable through there would this be a suitable option. Thanks
Of course you can. As many amps that I have installed I have only had to drill one hole through the fire wall. As long as there is a grommet you are good to go. You should be able to open the rubber up with a screw driver. Just be careful not to damage any wires.
Q:hi i need to connect a extra cd rom drive to my computer and dont have enough 4 pin power cables in my computer how would i get those and how would i install those. Thanks
www.okorder /... you can get these from any good computer shop. so you connect 1 end to a cable from the power supply and then connect the other 2 ends to the optical drives.
