We installed sheets of red colored pvc sheeting under our upper deck to provide dry area below. It's spring I noticed a big area which has lots of splotches of dried gray stuff which looks like cement. Only thing I can think of is that we have a fire pit nearby outside the deck - but not sure how or what caused the splotches. I've tried a brush with soapy water, and tried Goof Off, then using a metal scraper which kind of works but leaves small scratches and WILL take FOREVER. Everything I've looked up says to use muriatic acid in water but I can't because it would drip down onto me. ANY BETTER IDEAS?

Do not use GOOF OFF! Do not use muriatic acid either. You need to find out what the splotches are first. You say it looks like cement but why? Did you have any concrete work or brick pointing work or any type of cement work done to your house? If so if it was done by a contractor he is responsible not you. Any type of cement would wipe off of pvc sheets easily with a wet rag unless you wait to long after. GOOF OFF would ruin the pvc sheets if its the solvent based strong smell type. Cement splotches only appear after a sloppy contractor or sloppy home owner did cement work around the sheets but you didn't specify??

just put a plastic ceiling up and my labourer put a dent in the 2nd board there are 9 pvc cladding boards on the ceiling but I cannot start taking them back out from the end to replace it as I have put a walk in shower in and the wet wall shower boards tie them in is there any other way I can replace it I havnt tiled it in yet the boards are silicone and screwed on the lip HELP PLEASEEEEEEEEEE!!! My family just moved into a new house in Maryland. In the basement there is a finished part and an unfinished part we use for storage. Over the last few days, we noticed this smell/odor coming from the basement, most notably from the unfinished side. We discovered a large PVC pipe which dead-ends has been leaking this dark brown water, and identified this water as the source of the smell.Does anyone know what this dead-end pipe is for?Thanks a bunch!

I live in a condo, and ive notived theres some kind of pvc piping slightly protruding from above the ceiling in the shower. this pipe occasionaly drips water. not alot, but definitly enough for me to see it and hear it, and take notice. Is this a problem with the above neighbors living above me? what exactly is the purpose of that piping? sorry for the vague description, but i dont know how else to describe it. help is appreciated.

1. you should not see exposed pvc pipe in your condo. If you own the condo, I would report this to the association. 2. The leak could be sweat from the pipe, not likely though. 3. It would hard to fix because right now you haven't a clue who the pipe belongs to.
